Valmiki National Park is located in the West Champaran district of Bihar, India, at . The extensive forest area of Valmikinagar was previously owned by the Bettiah Raj and Ramanagar Raj until the early 1950s.[1] It serves as the only Indian tiger reserve in the state of Bihar.
Valmiki contains about 10 tigers as measured by the capture-recapture population estimating methodology operated by the Indian government. Additionally, the Wildlife Trust of India carries out a camera trapping operation in the area. Other notable species in the area include the civet and the Dhole, a type of wild dog.
The Valmiki National Park was created in the early 1990s and since then has functioned as a sanctuary for tigers, the majestic great cats indigenous to India. Valmiki National Park's tiger population is the fourth most populous in India.
The natural geography of the park features a stream called Gandak rivulet and a mountain called Mount Annapurna.
